Teacher’s Day 2018-Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan History:-  The Teachers’ day is celebrated every year on 5th September across India, the former President, Teacher, Educator and Scholar Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is also the birthday.

In the year 1962, when Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan took over, the first teachers’ day was celebrated. Former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born in 1882 in the Telugu Brahman family in Tirutani, Andhra Pradesh. A highly educated person of his time, Dr. S Teacher’s Day 2018-Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan History.Radhakrishnan postgraduate in philosophy from Madras University, after which he taught at University of Mysore and Calcutta University.

Later, he worked as the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University along with Banaras Hindu University [BHU]. After all these accomplishments, he was also invited to Oxford University to preside over the Spelling Professor of Eastern Religion.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was elected as the president of our country and many people requested him to celebrate his birthday. However, Dr. Radhakrishnan did not want his birthday to be celebrated, but the great man said that he would be honored if his birthday could be celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India so that teachers and all the work done by him can be respected to society.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was a recipient, a human being and an inspiration to the youth. He was honored with many other civil awards like Bharat Ratna and Knighthood in 1931. Not only that, he was named eleven times for the Nobel Peace Prize in his lifetime.

He loved all his students and was known to be a wonderful, interactive and accessible teacher. She was always ready to help and was always there for her students. There can not be an any better day to celebrate our teachers than their birth anniversary.
